Sarah Hagen, Ph.D.

Instructor

Sarah holds a PhD in mathematics from Oregon State University, and her published research is in theoretical fluid dynamics. While research is her hobby, teaching is Sarah's obsession. She loves giving public talks about cool mathematics, running math demo booths at science festivals and museums, and organizing math workshops for places like the local Boys and Girls Club and the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility (a women's prison located outside of Portland, Oregon).

When not doing math, Sarah enjoys hiking, playing footbag net (basically beach volleyball but with a hacky sack), and performing stand-up comedy. She lives in Eugene, Oregon, with her husband (Dan), two children (Phoebe and Connor), and dog (Special Agent Dale Cooper).
