Erin McKenna has been a school counselor since 2007 and joined Davidson Academy Online in 2020. Before that, she worked as a special education paraeducator, helping students in the classroom starting in 2000. She is a compassionate educator who enjoys working with students to help them understand themselves and discover their potential. Erin holds an MS in school counseling from McDaniel College and a BS in Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State University, with a focus on early childhood, youth, and adolescent development. In addition to her formal college training, Erin has participated in Conflict Resolution and Peer Mediation curricula and training for schools and has been involved with the Maryland Commission on Conflict Resolution. She has also taken coursework in Mindfulness Meditation in the school setting. Recently relocating from the East Coast to Nevada, Erin has enjoyed the peacefulness of the mountains and the many adventures that travel offers. She also finds joy in exploring art and engaging in watercolor and other forms of painting.
