Animation

Course Overview

In this semester-long, introductory animation course, students gain fundamental skills to create 2D animations through frame-by-frame, tweens, rotoscoping, and inverse kinematics. Emphasis is placed on the history of animation; animation terminology; principles of animation, storyboard, and character development; and utilization of Adobe Animate CC. Students will think critically and creatively to demonstrate their understanding of how movement, emotions and expressions, timing, audio psychology, lighting, and basic design and art principles all combine to portray a story through animation.
